This is my latest painting, done for my exploring creativity class Fall semester. My intention was to creat art with meaning. I wasn't completley unsucessful from my point of view. Let's see, how do I tell you what this painting means to me?

The painting is the story of my sturuggle with depression. Both the figures are me at different parts of my life. The figure at the base of the tree is me when I am down. It's the representation of myself prior to being treated for depression.

The second figure is me when I am happy. This is me when I am reaching to God, holding onto him, my family and my friends. I don't consider myself to struggle with depression, instead I simply have it.

It's a new day, filled with HOPE

Very Much Past Due Update

So, the long and short of it is that I have never kept up on a blog or anything else. So I'm going to attempt to catch you (whom ever you are) up with everyting I've been doing.

This is a picture from the summer program I ran. I poured my very being into the program and plan to do it again this summer, and hopefully with twice the number of lil heathens! The pic is from a "Dino Dig" we did. I traced a model dino onto a transperancey and then projected it on to a piece of plywood. Then my very loving Grandpas cut the pieces out. Then I buried them in the sand volleyball court in the park. After equipping the kiddos with shovels we headed to the site of our "Archeological Dig". The kids had a blast, though putting it together was kind of difficult. Here's another pic of one of the pieces, they were quite large...

We also made volcanoes, rubber blubber flubber, dino feet, t-shirts, masks, candy sushi, egg roles, marble mazes and lots of other stuff! We also had a food fight, in honor of book week, for "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs". We did field trips to the Zoo, Science Museum and of course the beach.Besides this, nothing really went on during my summer. When school started I was talked into taking a class, exploring creativity, and in class I decided to make a cookbook. I think it turned out well.

Lets see..... what else have I been up too? Hmm... not really a whole lot. I will do my best to keep you updated. Gee, I really felt like I've been busier than that.
